After Eight exists to make it easier to better your wardrobe without compromising on style.
Founded in 2020, After Eight offers a curated edit of highly sought-after sustainably-minded brands through our online platform and Hobart-based boutique. We help style lovers discover the everyday and forever wardrobe pieces that make dressing a joy. With a motto of ‘Buy once, buy well’, we promote quality and longevity, focussing not just on what to add to your wardrobe, but how to get the most of what’s already there, too.
Following a series of highly popular pop-ups, we saw a real demand from shoppers who still favoured an in-store approach with the ability to touch and try on pieces. So in 2021, we opened our flagship boutique in the heart of Hobart, complementing our online store and eschewing the traditional retail model for a more personal shopping experience.
As well as our consumer retail and styling offering, we also work with brands to bring their creative vision to life, with previous collaborations including Francesca, L’Oréal and The Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.
When it comes to sustainable fashion, we don’t claim to have all the answers yet - no-one does. But we do know that learning more about what goes on ‘behind the seams’, supporting and celebrating the innovators, and making important changes to shop consciously and smartly together makes a difference in an industry with a huge environmental impact.
